Sample Supports is an agency designed to creatively serve individuals with developmental disabilities in community-based settings throughout Colorado.  Sample Supports is an approved service agency through the Division of Developmental Disabilites. 

Mission Statement: To promote relationships, attachment, positive boundaries, and resource development to create opportunities and improve the lives of people living with disabilities. 

Sample Supports Values:

• Community Integration: Promoting "connected independence" for individuals to continually develop necessary skills to live as an integrated member of their communities. Through supported employment services and resourceful providers, clients are able to access their communities in a new and meaningful way.

• Therapeutic Attachment: Building solid and positive bonds among the individual with disabilities and their family members, providers and friends.  Many clients have histories of trauma, abuse and/or neglect that may have interfered with their current ability to build meaningful attachments and healthy relationships.  Sample Supports offers educational and clinical plans to address these attachment needs and help promote personal growth of the clients.

• Positive Boundaries: Encouraging appropriate and positive limits among clients, providers and staff to create a healthy environment.  Sample Supports continually strives toward promoting the use of firm therapeutic boundaries to increase self-awareness, independence and skill acquisition of clients in their communities.

• Meaningful Connections: Developing strong relationships within the community, including at places of employment, with neighbors and community resources.  Sample Supports offers a close community of persons with and without disabilities that encourage meaningful relationships.

• Safety and Well-being:  Ensuring that each person has a solid and firm plan regarding mental health and behavioral needs in order for them to be able to live safely within the community of their choice.  In addition, Sample Supports trains and carefully screens excellent providers to provide top quality care to persons receiving services.
