Choose One of Our Social Work Internship Options
"Interning at Sample Supports is one of the best experiences I have ever had. The staff is inviting, encouraging, and knowledgeable, which promotes an atmosphere of growth in both knowledge and skill. During my time at Sample, I was given the opportunity to utilize what I was learning with individuals and in a group setting. Along with interacting directly with individuals in services, the staff introduced me to clinical documentation, state documentation, and collaboration with various state and local institutions. I worked closely with my supervisor, who offered practical insight and guidance, so that I was honing my skill set, learning new skills, and offering better service to the individuals I served with each interaction. Interning at Sample Supports is the best way to gain clinical experience and develop as a profession in the field."

Our internship at Sample Therapy focuses on substance abuse and mental health. A major part includes the clinical counseling pieces where co-facilitation is set up with DUI education, DUI Therapy, and Relapse Prevention groups. We work with our interns to review processes for intakes and develop clinical counseling skills. Our program also gives insight into what goes on behind-the-scenes including: policies, procedures, tracking, and Medicaid systems. This well-balanced internship is ideal for individuals looking to work side by side with our clinical team to develop counseling skills.

Some interns work within behavior services, where behavioral assessments, counseling, and training are the focus. Others who enjoy the residential side of things, learn the administrative pieces to ensure health and safety, get a taste of the balance of policies and procedures, and see first hand how behavioral intervention and family systems work.
