What's new at Sample Supports?
We're making Day Program more fun.
You shared and we listened! We want our Day Program to be even more fun for all of the people who join us. To help with this, we're excited to welcome our full-time Activity Coordinator to the team!
Their job? To make program a place that people love to go. We're taking input daily and creating both community and site-based schedules that come from the ideas of the people in program - and what they really want to do. From adaptive yoga to Meals on Wheels volunteering, we're building up the activities as the priority of our program so people of all needs can enjoy what makes them happy alongside their communities.

We want our teams to feel valued and supported.
While the "why" behind our jobs is easy, showing up to support the people we serve can be challenging and we want our teams to have the support they need to show up - and keep showing up as their best. How will we do that? Finding ways to make our team feel valued day in and day out.

From on the spot incentives of their choice to community and local recognition with awards, our goal is to encourage our teams to be their best, thank them for their work and commitment, and to keep our workforce strong to match the needs of the people we serve.

We're getting creative in residential.
Times have certainly changed since the pandemic! We're rising to the occasion to make sure the people we support in host home, family caregiver, and supported apartment environments have what they need to be successful. We've all gotten comfortable in our home routines and we want to shake that up to make sure every person is a fully part of their community.
One new feature is community time in our Supported Apartment Program. While errands and life skills are an integral part of our program, we wanted to bring some fun and connection in too. Each week the people in our apartment program choose a personal activity they'd like to do with their direct care teams. We've been doing self-care from pedicures and haircuts to pottery classes and bowling leagues.
We want the people we support to feel a part of the community when we're there so they can build up the confidence to get out there on their own!

We're finding competitive and integrated employment.
The workforce is buzzing and our Job Development teams are working hard to place people in competitive and integrated positions. We are breaking down barriers and hitting the job market to find individualized and custom employment locations for each person in our program.
And we're staying true to our mission that no person is too challenging to be served in the community with behavior supports.
Our behavior team goes where the support is needed. Our whole-person and social work approach keeps the needs of the person at the forefront no matter what environment we are working in. We have options for in-person and telehealth services and families are loving the option to connect remotely especially when needs are high.
